Business Management & Administration
Our Accounting and Administrative Office Specialist students had a very busy and productive week. On Tuesday we shared our classroom with our fellow students from the Digital Design Class as we hosted a speaker from Work Force Central Florida. Ms. Mary Vandewater, a seminar instructor, conducted a presentation about WCF. She covered topics such as what resources and services are available to us and how to use their web sites. She also described different job search techniques. Ms. Vandewater shared tips for writing a resume and interviewing. She described how important certifications, such as “Florida Ready to Work” are. Following her presentation, she answered a variety of questions covering many aspects of a seeking employment. At the end of the presentation, AOS student Brinda Ruehlen gave Ms. Vandewater a thank-you gift from our classes.
On Thursday, we had a double celebration as we shared in the success of the Red Sox and had the LTC’s Halloween party. Several students came in costume which added to the excitement. Our class also contributed to the canned drive for a food pantry.
In our classes we worked on Excel’s advanced selection procedures, PowerPoint’s master slides development and learning the concepts of letter and memo planning and development. As the end of the month approached, many of our students were busy submitting articles for our classroom newsletter. It is due next week.
