The Bradenton Fire Department is building an ongoing eligibility list for future positions. FireTEAM through National Testing Network (NTN) and a valid CPAT testing are both required for this listing. Please have all testing completed by April 8, 2016 at 17:00 hours to be considered for this round of hiring.

Salary Information: Base salary ranges from $38,021 per year (entry) to $58,220 after four years. Educational incentives and specialty pay available depending on current assignment.

Department Information: The Bradenton Fire Department serves the City in an emergency management, fire suppression, fire prevention, and first responder capacity. The department is comprised of three stations with authorized staffing of 63 suppression personnel divided among three shifts, and 10 administration and support personnel with offices in the Gene Gallo Central Station.

The department operates six basic life support (BLS) engine companies, two aerial ladders, and a special operations/technical rescue unit. Specialty units include a light technical rescue team and a marine rescue division. Of the average annual emergency response of 5,000 calls per year, 23% of those are fire related.

City Information: They City of Bradenton is located on the central west coast of Florida, south of Tampa, along the southern bank of the Manatee River. The county seat of Manatee County, the City was chartered in 1903, and currently comprises approximately 15 square miles. The community of nearly 50,000 residents has a daily employment population of approximately 75,000 and a transient population of 100,000.

The City is home to two major hospitals, Manatee Memorial and Blake Medical Center; the headquarters for Champs Sports and Tropicana Products; the Southwest Florida Museum and Planetarium, home of “Snooty” the Manatee; and is the winter home and training camp of the Pittsburgh Pirates. Gulf beaches are located just minutes away, west on Manatee Avenue.

Post Hiring: Members will be required to complete courses related to probationary/promotional policies. (i.e. ICS, NIMS, various fire-science courses, EMT re-certification).
