What does a cooperative attitude, a strong work ethic, and exemplary attendance lead to at Lake Technical Center? A student’s ability to be nominated for membership in the National Adult Education Honor Society. Thirty-two students from the Adult Basic Education (ABE), GED prep classes and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), met these criteria and were inducted into the National Adult Education Honor Society on May 30, 2013. Lake Tech congratulates the newest members: Karina Alvarez, Montha Bendickson, William Calixte, Jose Cartegena, Diana Castaneda, Cherry Doty, Tammie Farman, Myrtha Germain, Claudia Gonzalez, Lorena Gonzalez, Karina Hernandez, Vivian James, Maria Martinez, Carmen McKenzie, Lucia McLaughlin, Liliana Molano, Lucia Ojeda, Charlie Osceola, Eleazar Padilla, Sandra Padilla, Patricia Pantoja, Maria Paredes, Sneha Patel, Jazmin Pimental, Hecory Quijada, Urszula Rajska, Dominga Rapalo, Claudia Russell, Chaden Tabbara, Dioken Valburen, Heidie Valdez, and Donald Vicks.
In January 2014, there will be a new GED test. The current version of the test is expiring and scores will too if a person doesn’t finish and pass the test by January 2014. Lake Tech offers GED, Adult Basic Education (ABE), and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) classes throughout Lake County and online. Online instruction for GED, ABE and AAAE is also available. The summer term begins July 1st for GED classes to be held at the Eustis main campus, as well as ESOL and GED classes at the Lake Tech south campus in Mascotte. The fall term begins August 19th and the cost is $30 per term.
