This newsletter is dedicated to our beloved Etta Woodruff who passed away on March 1.
From her Celebration of Life Service:
Etta was born to Johnny and Malissa Warren on May 25, 1956 in Miami, Florida. Etta went to school at Yalaha Elementary (1st – 3rd grades), Rimes Elementary (5th -6th grades), and Leesburg High School (7th-12th grades). Unto her were born 4 boys: Baby Warren who proceeded her in death, Justin Gregory Stevens, Brett Warren Woodruff, and Russell Joel Woodruff who provided excellent care to her during her illness.
Etta was employed by Lake County School Board for a total of 27 years. Her entire tenure was at Lake Technical College where she held various positions. The most recent and the one that she enjoyed the most was the Admissions Office Enrollment Specialist. Etta was a natural at this position. She got paid to do what she loved to do most “talk”.
Etta was very adventurous, and she loved to sing and travel. She was a writer, the ultimate planner, and the Martha Stewart of the family. Fall was one of Etta’s favorite times of the year. But no one loved the Christmas season as much as Etta. She started playing Christmas music in July, and the Christmas tree went up the day after Thanksgiving. Of course, she loved all of the Hallmark Christmas movies. Her favorite place to go when she was feeling down was the Christmas section at Peddler’s Wagon in downtown Eustis.
Etta loved her sons, granddaughter, sisters and brother. But most of all Etta loved her Lord and Savior. After a valiant fight with cancer, He who loved her most called her home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny and Malissa Warren, sister Malinda Warren-Begue, and brother Nathaniel Warren Sr. She leaves to mourn: Sisters: Johnnie Barnes, Marsha Haynes (Wellington), Brother: Jessie Warren, Granddaughter, Jaliah “Mooka Mooka” Stevens, Special Classmates: Vera, Reddick, Barbara, Carl, and Mary. Co-Workers: Laurie, Lana, and Sonya. Church family at Transform Ministries International Church Clermont, FL.
