National Technical Honor Society (NTHS)
opens in a new windowThe National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) is a non-profit, nationally recognized organization for promoting excellence in workforce education to meet the demands of today’s quality-driven businesses and industries.
NTHS has a mission to honor student achievement and leadership, promote educational excellence, and enhance career opportunities for technical students. They provide recognition for excellence in technical education and create occupational opportunities for America’s top workforce education students.
To become a member of the NTHS a student must fulfill the following requirements:
- Be enrolled in a 600+ hour job preparatory program.
- Maintain an overall cumulative grade average of 93% or better in their technical program.
- Be enrolled for at least 50% of their program hours.
- Maintain an attendance rate of 90% or better.
- Demonstrate good character and leadership skills.
- Be recommended by their program instructor.
- Pay a $30.00 membership fee.
Each member receives a certificate, a NTHS lapel pin, and a NTHS tassel to wear at graduation. Members will receive special recognition at the graduation ceremony. Official letters of recommendation from the National Technical Honor Society are sent to the member’s choice of colleges and employers.
National Adult Education Honor Society (NAEHS)
The mission of the National Adult Education Honor Society is to provide meaningful recognition to deserving adult education students, to improve student employment opportunities, to develop student ambassadors for local adult education programs and to create adult education awareness with school administrators and state legislators.
Lake Tech inducts students into the NAEHS each year who have demonstrated the following attributes: dependable attendance, cooperative attitude, and a good work ethic.
