Nursing Assistant
Congratulations to the most recent Nursing Assistant graduates who completed their program on February 19. Although a small group, they were full of Lake Tech spirit. Their instructor, Cheryl Finotti, always does a spectacular job with the students.
Ever wondered what a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) does or where they work? They provide care and assist residents with a long list of tasks associated with personal care, nutrition and hydration, the use of assistive devices, socialization, and leisure activities among other tasks. They work under the supervision of an LPN or an RN. Earning your CNA starts a pathway in the healthcare field for those interested in becoming nurses, medical assistants, patient care techs, phlebotomists, etc. Lake Tech offers programs day and evening on the Eustis campus and during the evening in Clermont.
Medical Assisting
This week in the Medical Assisting program, new students were practicing their vital signs and how to apply sterile gloves. Senior students are ready for their practicum in the field and then they will be finished and ready for work!

Students this week got a chance to remove and replace cylinder heads and injectors on a customer’s engine. We also received a big bore Maxforce engine donation from Maudlin International thanks to business partner Mike Kruenegel.
ADULT EDUCATION

Adult Education students have been on the move this week! We have had several students who are in CTE programs get their needed test scores and are back in their program full time. Another student got his needed score to get into Pharm Tech in March. Two more students finished their GED tests and earned their State of Florida High School diplomas! Congratulations to all of them – their dedication, work ethic, and perseverance have paid off!
